Arrived in Dubai and stayed at The Atlantis Hotel. I thought I was in Disneyland. For me too many people but our objective is to eat and there are three restaurant which have received Michelin stars, all combines 6 stars. Still don’t enjoy the hotel very much because there are too many people. Yes it is like a cosmopolitant Disneyland. Many nationalities and even the staff of the hotel come from all over the
world. Like the feel of the city where you get good international food and it has a very hip international feel about it. Will let you know about the restaurants with Michelin Guide stars later.

Hi Everyone,
Ever since the beginning of the year when I return from vacation in USA I had no time at all to write but between 15th. to 20th. of this month I had the opportunity to visit Dubai.. Never been there but heard so much about it and the added incentive to go to Dubai is flying Emirates Air on their new A 380 plane.
I flew Business class on the upper deck. There is a shower and very large bathroom in the first class section.
Two bars on the upper deck one in the front for first class and one in the back for business class. The seats were very comfortable and when you sleep, it is 180 degrees. The atmosphere at the business class lounge is very relax and like being in a cozy club. he plane is so big, the noise of the engine and wind appears to be much less… or is it my imagination.

I guess this trend happens because the world has gotten even small as we all get older. I can remember the time when there were only two styles of Chinese restaurant in Bangkok. The small shop house restaurants which served Tae Chieu and Hainanese cuisine like roast duck or chicken and rice; and the other would be the tradition Cantonese cuisine like Hoi Tien Lao etc. It was not until fairly recently that we were introduced to Chinese cuisine from the northern provinces of china like those from Beijing and Shanghai. One of the first few restaurant that introduced Xiaolongpao (a Shanghai style steamed dumpling) and food that has more wheat flour in its repertoire than we are used to in Chinese cuisine in Thailand. The profile of Chinese food from the north is less spicy and uses more wheat flour in its cuisine.
